Dark Knight Rises
I think I can safely say I have not been alone in counting down weeks, days, and minutes until the epic conclusion of the Dark Knight Trilogy hits theaters. Dark Knight Rises will be coming out on July 20, and honestly, I'd try buying my tickets now. There is literally no way that these theaters won't be sold out when opening night rolls around. If the hype isn't enough to get you there, there is an even more star-studded cast for the conclusion. The new additions include Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anna Hathaway, Tom Hardy, and more. Those who will reprised their past roles include Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, Liam Neeson, and of course, Christian Bale. This is going to be the movie event of the year,
The Dictator
We've know him as Bruno, Ali G, and most famously, Borat, but tomorrow, Sacha Baron Cohen is taking on a new role, The Dictator. The plot of The Dictator is not quite clear, but it involves a dictator that somehow comes to New York, loses his identity, and must learn to adapt. I'm not quite sure what will go on, but I know I want to see it. Cohen has done a lot of in-character publicity to promote the movies, including dumping ashes on Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet. He has also come on The Daily Show and SNL's Weekend Update in character as Admiral General Aladeen. If we know Sacha Baron Cohen, it will be hilarious, highly inappropriate, but hilarious.

The Avengers Arrive
The Avengers have arrived. They stormed the theaters on May 4 to great, though not unexpected, success. I for one was not exactly sure what to expect, not that that stopped the expectations from being high. I think the movie was well done; it's not an easy to take six Marvel superheroes, each with their own very dedicated fan base, and bring them together in a movie that works for everyone. Every avenger is displayed impressively and receives their fair share of the spotlight. My one issue with the movie is Captain America, while I loved his movie, and he's great of course, I can't help but wonder what his power actually is? When asked on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, he answered (albeit jokingly) "he's a really nice guy." I know he was kidding, but to me that pretty much sums it up. His greatest asset is his sheild, and he got that from Howard Stark. Other than that, I have no problems with The Avengers, it was a quality action movie with a surprising amount of humor.

The Avengers
Yes guys, I know this is early. The Avengers isn't coming out until May 4, but I just couldn't help it. This is going to be the greatest movie since 21 Jump Street (yes I know 21 Jump Street only came out like two weeks ago). Quick break down for those of you who must live in a cave if you don't know the general plot of The Avengers:
Nicky Fury brings together the Marvel Superheroes in order to save the world from a global threat. It's like the all-star game, but with higher stakes and cooler players (Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow).
I am beyond excited for this movie, I have been since the end of Captain America when they set The Avengers up by introducing Nick Fury in the last scene. Expect a whole lot more posts about The Avengers as the release date gets closer.

Titanic in 3-D
So I feel like all anyone is talking about movie-wise now that the Hunger Games release hype has died down is the release of Titanic in 3-D. There's been mixed reactions. Honestly, I'm not even sure how I feel about it. I think it would be cool to see Titanic on the big screen having not had the chance, but 3-D glass give me a headache, and I'm not sure how much 3-D really does. Maybe that's just me.
Movies
So this blog will be about movies. Pretty much all the time. Just to start out here are a few of my personal favorites.
In the comedy section we have:
1) Role Models (2008)
2) 21 Jump Street (2012)
3) Step Brothers (2008)
If you haven't seen them. See them.
Drama/Action section:
1) The Departed (2006)
2) Memento (2000)
3) Blood Diamond (2006)
Same goes.
I recommend all of them highly.

Seriously though, the Departed is like the best movie ever. You have to see it.
